My name is Etienne. I was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa sometime during 1962. I reside in Port Elizabeth, although I have worked in Pretoria and Grahamstown. I attended Walmer Primary School, DF Malherbe High School and the University of Port Elizabeth.

I am getting married this year. A first marriage at 46? I can hear you say "he must be crazy"! Maybe I am but I see it as a new adventure with a woman I really love, something to look forward to.

My hobbies include playing league snooker and backgammon, but only on-line at Dailygammon, as I don't know anyone else in Port Elizabeth who plays the game. I used to play cricket, rugby, soccer, tennis, pool and golf.

I enjoy walking in Baakens Valley, a beautiful and tranquil area in the heart of Port Elizabeth. I have recently bought a camera and have taken to capturing some of the wildlife I encounter on my walks. The images are posted in my image gallery but they are not all of the best quality as I have no ambition to become a brilliant photographer, I just wanted a way to keep track of the fauna and flora that I have seen. As my main interest is birds I have published a checklist of all the birds found in the Port Elizabeth region which also doubles as a personal checklist of those species I have seen and those I have managed to photograph. The images may be viewed in my image gallery.
